Design of our Smokers
The basic process for making smokers is through the handcraft process of woodturning. Initially images of every day personalities are incorporated. However, overtime there is the incorporation of Santa Claus and diverse modern motifs. The various designs include small and large smokers, standing smokers, edge tool smokers, bakers, foresters, salesmen, chimney sweepers, miners, et cetera.
How Smokers are Made
You should begin with turning templates by designing the lathe for the different pieces. This first process is ideal as it makes the turning process faster and easier. You can spray the designs, sticking them to a cardboard and cutting out the edges so you have an outline of the smoker already.
If you’ve already turned a block of wood to a rounder shape, you should continue the process marking on the smoker where the smoker transitions would take place. You may use a pencil for marking out these transition points.
To ensure evenness on all edges of your wood piece, you can use an adjustable wrench to take the measurements of various points. Separate the body from the head and then make a notch in the body for the lever to fit. Drill a hole through the lever and the body, so you can pivot it with a nail.
Next, glue the hat after making a brim for it. Ensure you glue the hat in place. Dowels pin can help attach the body to the legs. Attach the legs to a piece of wood and shape out shoes, tiny shoes most preferably. Then attach the arms and swinging body (if any). Glue the head, arm and head with the addition of hair and beard. Now paint every part with various suitable colors before this last process of attachments.
